Seven-Day’s Lifestyle

This is an independent illustration project that Inspired by my weekly routines.

Connected with the real world sexual harassment News.

The Real story behind each scene

I illustrated a typical office lady's life: scenes on the way home, hanging out with friends, reading alone etc.

Instead of drawing the brutal reality scene, I prefer to bring warmth and care to the audience.

This series of illustrations trying to achieve a sense of security, meditation and warmth. I believe visual art has great power to heal, empower and free people's bodies and minds.

After Class, Waiting at TTC

Just after class, I was waiting for the bus with my schoolbag alone. I saw many people in the TTC station, I suddenly felt scared. I recalled that I saw the news a few days ago about a female college student who encountered sexual harassment at a subway station.

In an unrelated incident, Keira Allan, a Seneca student, said she was waiting for a bus at Finch Station in September when she confronted by a man who had his hands down his pants.

When I was a kid

When I was a child, my family and teachers always told me to be careful of strangers. Many News reported children were sexually harassed. But the guardian cannot always protect me by my side, so I need to protect myself.

More than 1 in 7 girls say they were sexually assaulted by another student. It was a typical high school crush on an older boy. She was new to school, in Grade 9. He was in Grade 12. So when they started flirting on Snapchat, Brooke thought their relationship was special.

Reading In Libraries

When I was reading in the library, I suddenly felt very upset. I always felt that someone was staring at me, which made me unable to concentrate on reading.

On Feb. 28, Erin Moffatt, ArtSci ’20, “trusted her gut” and called campus security after a man approached her and a friend at a library table, bringing their attention to what appeared to be an erection.

Having Fun At Clubs

When I am playing in a nightclub with my friends, I can’t drink too much, I need to keep a part of myself sober to protect myself.

A Toronto judge says a former bar owner and his manager who were convicted in a violent, hours-long sexual assault saw women as “disposable instruments” for their sexual gratification.

On the way home/School/work

When I walk happily on the way home, I am always happy, but my parents always tell me not to take the path, pay attention to safety, and protect myself.

He asked me loudly where I was going, what my name was, and proceeded to call me “sweetie.” He yelled at the sky that the “Indian girl” at the bus stop thought she was too good for him. He proceeded to say that if she didn’t pay attention to him, he would rape her.

Having Fun with my Parents

When I was young, my favorite thing was to play with my parents, which made me feel safe and happy.

M.K. had been previously sexually abused when she arrived at the Holms’ as a foster child, hoping to find a safe, stable home. Instead, her stay turned into a nightmare. The couple groomed her under the guise of trying to heal her. They dressed her up, made her watch porn, and eventually she was sexually assaulted by Joe.
